OOPEAA is part of the Finnish Olympic Design Group designing a proposal for the Winter Olympics in China in 2022

The Finnish Olympic Design Group is among the five finalists competing for the task of designing the Nordic Sports Park for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. The group is composed of six Finnish architecture and engineering offices along with sports experts from Finland. The final decision on the winning proposal will be announced in May this year. The plan develops a proposal for a Nordic venue cluster that provides facilities for ski jumping, cross-country skiing and biathlon in three separate centers. ARABIAZZA(S) offers a vision to redevelop the historic Arabia block into a new urban district

Arabiazza(s) offers a vision to redevelop the historic Arabia block into a new urban district. The proposal was developed by a team led by Anssi Lassila and composed of OOPEAA working in collaboration with Lundén Architecture. Gehl Architects acted as an expert in matters of urban public space. Arabiazza(s) was developed for an invited competition organized by Varma Oy with the City of Helsinki and the Finnish Association of Architects, SAFA.

OOPEAA wins competition for designing a new apartment building in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki

OOPEAA’s proposal “Karlsson” wins the invited architecture competition for designing a 4-6 storey apartment building in Jätkäsaari to form a part of the larger entity of block 20828. The competition was organized by Lakea in collaboration with the City Planning Department, Helsinki and SAFA, the Finnish Association of Architects.   Karlsson takes its cue from Helsinki as a city of roof scapes where the rich and varied roofs form one façade of the buildings.
