Tikkurila Church is easily accessible by public transportation, with a 3-minute walk from the Tikkurila Train Station and Bus Hub.

The Open House at the Tikkurila Church and Housing is opened with a brief lecture presentation about the design process by the architects, followed by a discussion with the users sharing their experience of the building. After, there will be a chance to tour the building with the architects in small groups. Registration is requested to join the TOUR.
Discovering Architecture
The Tikkurila Church and Housing is one of the 40 buildings shortlisted for the EU Mies Award 2022. During the month of May, the authors and users of the 40 shortlisted works in 25 European cities are organizing events in their projects to share their experiences with everybody. Through guided tours and lectures, the Out & About – Discovering Architecture EU Mies Awards 2022 program allows citizens to explore the backstage of buildings and to discover what makes an architecture project. It gives people the opportunity to learn more about projects in their cities or in places that they are visiting.
The event is part of the Out & About Discovering Architecture series presenting the 40 buildings shortlisted for the EU Mies Award 2022. The series is organized by Creative Europe, Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Guiding Architects and Creative Europe. The tour of the Tikkurila Church and Housing is realized in collaboration with the Open House Helsinki.

Tikkurila Church and Housing
The Tikkurila Church and Housing is a multifunctional complex contains a church with a café, meeting spaces for the community as well as offices accompanied with an adjoining apartment building that offers student housing and affordable rental apartments with shared facilities and retail space. Together, the church and the housing form one unity with a diversity of functions to serve the residents of Tikkurila, one of the fastest growing and ethnically most diverse areas in the metropolitan region of Helsinki. Located along the main town square opposite to the town hall, the church and the adjoining housing are part of the transformation and densification of downtown Tikkurila.
