Risuviita 6

The competition sought new solutions to create better and  more appropriate housing solutions for the people of autism spectrum. The building consists of 36 rental apartments and 8 apartments unit for autistic people. The building is terraced from one to four floors, a solution which unifies the diversity of scale in the surroundings. The building wraps around a private courtyard, creating a comfortable small climate to the garden. The apartments for the autistic people are designed from their needs. Sensory function abnormalities are taken into account for example in the lighting control and the use of natural light, acoustics, colours, materials, as well as the clarity of spaces and the division to functional areas inside the apartment. The building materials are natural and sustainable materials such as red brick and wood.
